New In: Beauty

December 08, 2014

I’ve done my fair share of shopping in the past month. I get sucked in every single time whenever there is a promotion going on in store. It’s evident that there is a lack of self-control when it comes to shopping and something that I should really work on. It is also safe to say in the time of giving gifts; I have done so – just gifts, to myself. Now I am no beauty aficionado so don’t expect reviews, however I do know what works for me.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation has been a holy grail item for me ever since it was introduced to the market a few years ago. It’s lightweight, which is great because I hate liquid foundation. This will forever be a repurchase of mine and a great splurge once in a while. Something that is new for me is Chanel’s Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base (that was a mouthful) and the Rouge Coco Shine in Secret.  The person at the counter was suggesting the base would be great for my terribly oily skin and also smooth it out. She also suggested that it could be worn on its own if ever I feel like not wearing anything at all.

On the other end of the scale, Witchery has revamped their beauty range, which included an expansion of products offered and upgraded packaging for their second run in the beauty department. I picked up three things from their beauty line their lipstick in the shade ‘Shell’ which is a pink-coral colour, which would be great for the hot weather coming up. I also purchased their retractable kabuki brush just for the sole reason that the packing was super convenient. Lastly, it’s another nude nail polish in the shade ‘Blush’.

My affinity with nude and blush toned nail polishes continues with Essie’s offerings. I would like to think that somewhere down the line I will be able to have a spare thirty minutes in my day to actually spend on painting my nails but it’s nice to have some polish on hand. Whether or not I actually have the time to do so, Essie’s ‘Ballet Slippers’ and ‘Spin the Bottle’ are great everyday neutrals.

My beauty buys will often come in waves, so don’t expect me buy anymore soon in the near future. Buying clothes – that is something that all of you should expect all year round.

  1. Wow these are all so nice. I feel like such a tight-ass when it comes to buying makeup! I still want nice stuff but I don't want to spend too much you know?

    1. I'm the same too, that why I buy a bunch of makeup whenever there is a promotion going on, and it should last me a while.
