Staples, Staples, Staples

July 10, 2015

Now I’m not going to harp on the importance of wardrobe staples – a good pair of jeans, a button up shirt and great-fitting trench coat. I could go on for days. However, with a well-rounded and classic set of wardrobe essentials, there are endless combinations that will see you from season to season without wondering what there is left to wear in your wardrobe. As you can tell, I take a bit of a more monochromatic approach. It’s a colour palette that will seamlessly work for any occasion and all weather conditions.

I pretty much have multiples of this Uniqlo shirt and have different variations of the Leigh Topshop jeans since they work so well for my shape and lifestyle. I know that investing in multiples of these items won’t hurt because I know that they will always be worn. The sleeveless blazer has become a new staple. It’s something that you can certainly layer with in the winter or a great outerwear piece for the spring. The key to layering with a sleeveless blazer or trench is to either go sleeveless or a full sleeve – nothing in between. This will keep the proportions of the outfit in check. Finish off the outfit with sleek and minimal accessories.
