Launching M&S Australia

April 03, 2016

As I’m sure you have noticed by now, Marks and Spencer has landed in Australia. While we wait for the brick and mortar stores to arrive, the Australian website has been launched in the meantime. Several weeks ago, I was on hand to celebrate the launch of the online destination of the much-anticipated British icon at the lavish Ashton House. Home to easy-to-wear knits, classic English homeware and wardrobe essentials, Marks & Spencer aims to bring high quality wardrobe essentials at an accessible price point. In addition to the additional launch, it was also announced that this month, a collaboration between Alex Chung and Marks & Spencer would be hitting the online store.

Ashton House had been decorated in Marks & Spencer clothing, lingerie and homewares from top to bottom. The house was impressive enough as it is (can I have this house please?) but Nadia Fairfax, Kate Waterhouse and Bec Judd who played our hosts for the evening handpicked these items. While I may have fawned over all of the homeware items, I can conclusively say that the crowd pleasers were definitely the Percy pigs that were meant to be displays but ended up being eaten by absolutely everybody. I think we all may have celebrated when we found them in our goodie bags.

While I wait for their physical stores to hit our shores, is the destination for cult classics with a British sensibility.
